MicroCeramic™ Download
MicroCeramic™ is an exclusive Decoria technology that nearly doubles a floor’s hardness and durability without sacrificing visual appearance, pliability or affecting the thickness of the wear layer.
MicroCeramicTM Difference:

The Decoria MicroCeramic™ hardening technique adds strength by infusing rugged micro-sized ceramic glass beads into the wear layer below a floor’s polyurethane coats. They protect floors against heavy traffic, scuffs, scratches, stains and other damage, thereby extending floor life and easing maintenance.

Decoria does not mix ceramic with aluminum oxide in the polyurethane surface coats as do many competitors. So Decoria floors do not wear down prematurely or dull the optic visual.

Introduced in 2007, Decoria MicroCeramic™ is used in floors for commercial and residential spaces. The addition of MicroCeramic™ beads also reduces the amount of virgin polymers in our product, which is consistent with Decoria’s commitment to environmentally sensitive manufacturing.

NANOSILVER™ Download

Decoria is the first Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) manufacturer to employ silver (Ag+), a naturally occurring antimicrobial agent, in flooring. NanoSilver™ technology is effective against bacteria, viruses and some molds, yet is non-toxic to humans and animals. NanoSilver™ makes sense for a variety of applications, from healthcare and hospitality to schools and homes.

The top polyurethane layers of our NanoSilver™ floors contain actual silver that has been split into nano-sized particles, each 1 billionth of a meter.  This exponentially increases the surface area coverage, thereby increasing the antimicrobial efficiency of the floors.

This antimicrobial agent works in two ways:

  1. NanoSilver™ works with hydrogen in the air to denature the disulphide bonds in life-sustaining enzymes produced inside microbes.
  2. NanoSilver™ works with oxygen in either air or water, breaking down microbes through oxidization, an antibacterial process that works similarly to hydrogen peroxide.

NanoSilver™ is an innovation that helps to create a healthier indoor environment for our customers.

CSIRO CSIRO Slip Resistance Download

In order to interpret the classifications, please refer to Standards Australia Handbook 197, An Introductory Guide to the Slip Resistance of Pedestrian Surface Materials, which recommends minimum classifications for a wide variety of locations.
It is important to realise that test results obtained on unused factory-fresh samples may not be directly applicable in service, where proprietary surface coatings, contamination, wear and subsequent cleaning all influence the behaviour of the pedestrian surface.

CSIRO has categorized the AS4586 classifications into sub-groups Low, Medium & High. The slip resistance test classification is still determined according to AS 4586 Australian Standard (Appendices A & D). The added information of Low, Medium and High allows professionals to make a better judgement of pedestrian floor requirements.

GREEN STORY

Decoria flooring is available in a wide variety of colors, textures and patterns...but one feature all Decoria floors have in common is that they are GREEN!

In fact, our products contain the highest percentage of post-consumer recycled material...a minimum of 67% and often as much as 75%, which contributes to the maximum LEED credits. We are proud to say that we have the longest history of environmentally conscious Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring manufacturing…over 30 years.

ENVIRONMENTALLY MANUFACTURED

As fitting for the industry leader in environmental practices and products, our flooring lines are manufactured in an environmentally conscious way in our ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certified factory. Vinyl flooring, along with additional PVC from alternate sourcing, is remade using our proprietary reclamation program into Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) and plank lines. This means that our floors are produced efficiently to the highest standards of resource allocation and waste management.

100% RECYCLABLE

Our floors are 100% recyclable so they can be reconstituted into more flooring at the end of their life. Every month Decoria’s reclamation program keeps over 1,600 tons of waste from landfills.

In addition, our flooring also protects indoor environment and air quality by meeting and exceeding today's most stringent VOC emission requirements. Decoria Floors is a long-time member of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Floor Impact Rating ‐ with plasterboard ceiling

The floor impact ratings from our 2015 tests with a plasterboard ceiling are as stated in Table 1 below. These test results cannot be directly applied to other buildings as these results are site specific, hence can only be use as a guide. The floor/ceiling construction for this specific building was 200mm concrete slab, 150mm air gap (ceiling void) and 10mm thick plasterboard ceiling with 75mm thick insulation in the ceiling void.
